The Season Opening Concert titled ‚Nihavend Kâr‘ will take place at the AKM Theatre Hall in Istanbul on September 20, 2026, at 11:30 AM. This event is a tradition for the Cumhurbaşkanlığı Klasik Türk Müziği Korosu, showcasing the beauty of Turkish classical music.
During this concert, the choir will perform a selection of pieces, including a rare work by Hacı Faik Bey, which has been seldom heard before. The first part of the concert will feature compositions in the Nihavend makam, along with other notable works.
In the solo section, talented musicians Lütfiye Özer, Serap Çağlayan, and Volkan Ertem will present two distinguished examples from the instrumental repertoire. Additionally, Bekir Ünlüataer will perform four classical pieces in the Hicaz makam to illustrate the gazel form. The concert will conclude with works from the Mâhur makam, bringing a rich and diverse experience to the audience.
