The Bosphorus Cup returns to Istanbul from 17–19 September 2026, celebrating its 25th anniversary with three days of international yacht racing across some of the city’s most spectacular waterways. Bringing together professional and amateur sailing teams from Türkiye and abroad, the regatta has become one of the country’s premier sailing events.
The competition takes place across three distinctive race courses, including the Sea of Marmara, the Princes‘ Islands and the iconic Bosphorus Strait. The final Bosphorus Race is the event’s highlight, with dozens of yachts sailing between Europe and Asia against the backdrop of Istanbul’s palaces, waterfront mansions, mosques and suspension bridges.
For visitors, the Bosphorus Cup offers one of the best opportunities to experience Istanbul from its waterfront. Spectators can watch the races from public promenades and viewpoints along the Bosphorus while exploring nearby neighbourhoods, making it an excellent addition to a day of sightseeing.
