Ahmet Kaya with Brother Songs

Ahmet Kaya with Brother Songs is a concert celebrating the 40th anniversary of Ahmet Kaya’s artistic journey and the 25th anniversary of his passing. This event will feature performances of his beloved songs, bringing together diverse musical traditions that reflect the rich cultural tapestry of Turkey.

Taking place at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Stage in Istanbul, the concert aims to highlight the themes of unity and coexistence through music. The repertoire will focus on songs that resonate with human stories, showcasing the multifaceted influences in Kaya’s work—from the delicate string traditions of the Malatya/Elazığ region to Azerbaijani music, Abdal music, Kurdish dengbêj traditions, as well as elements of arabesque, alaturka, and rock.

Special surprises are also planned for the audience, enhancing the experience of this unique musical journey. The concert will reinterpret Kaya’s songs by emphasizing their cultural elements, sometimes using traditional instruments and at other times through innovative arrangements.
