Internationally acclaimed Swiss drummer Jojo Mayer brings his innovative ME/MACHINE project to Istanbul on 11 September 2026 at Komünite. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential contemporary drummers, Mayer combines acoustic performance with artificial intelligence and generative music technology in a one-of-a-kind live experience.
Inspired by experimental collaborations with Brian Eno, ME/MACHINE explores the evolving relationship between human creativity and digital technology. During the performance, Mayer interacts with a custom-built musical engine that analyses, transforms and responds to his drumming in real time, creating an unpredictable dialogue between musician and machine.
Held at Komünite in Kadıköy, one of Istanbul’s leading venues for contemporary music and culture, the performance offers an intimate setting for this immersive audiovisual experience. Rather than a traditional jazz concert, ME/MACHINE blends improvisation, electronic music and experimental sound art into a performance that pushes the boundaries of live music.
