Zilberman Unfold ’26: Sites of Relation

Zilberman Unfold ’26: İlişki Alanları (Sites of Relation) brings together works by 10 emerging artists selected through Zilberman’s annual open-call programme. Taking place simultaneously in Istanbul and Berlin for the first time, the exhibition explores how artistic practices are shaped by the places, histories, political realities and social conditions surrounding them.

The works examine different forms of connection through materials, bodies, landscapes, architecture and memory. Across painting, sculpture, photography, installation and other media, the artists consider how traces of history and personal experience become embedded in objects and places. Some works explore touch and materiality, while others reflect on childhood memories, changing landscapes, urban spaces and the relationship between people and their surroundings.

The exhibition is part of Zilberman’s long-running commitment to supporting emerging artistic practices and offers a glimpse into the perspectives of a new generation of artists working in Turkey.

Presented at Zilberman’s Istanbul gallery inside the historic Mısır Apartmanı on İstiklal Avenue, Sites of Relation is an easy addition to a day exploring Beyoğlu, Galata and the surrounding streets. Admission is free, making it an accessible stop for travelers interested in Istanbul’s contemporary art scene.
